Terms of Service

By creating an account or using Balance, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. Balance is developed and operated by an individual developer, not a registered company — contact dmitrenkoerika@gmail.com with any questions.

You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent in your country if higher, to create an account. Balance is not directed at children.

Balance is a nutrition and fitness tracking tool, not a medical device or a substitute for professional medical advice. Calorie and macro estimates, AI-generated meal analysis, product ratings, and coaching suggestions are informational only. Always check with a doctor or registered dietitian before making decisions about your diet, exercise, fasting, or health, especially if you have a medical condition.

Balance is not equipped to provide emergency or mental health support. If you or someone else may be in danger, or you're having thoughts of self-harm, please contact your local emergency number right away, or a crisis line — for example 988 in the US, Samaritans (116 123) in the UK and Ireland, or search "crisis line" plus your country. Some of Balance's AI features are designed to recognize this kind of situation and step back rather than respond as if it were a normal question, but they're not a substitute for real help.

Meal analysis, nutrition estimates, and product scores are generated using AI (Claude, by Anthropic) and third-party product data (Open Food Facts). Both can be inaccurate or incomplete — portion sizes, hidden ingredients, and mislabeled or missing products are common limitations of this kind of estimation. Use your own judgment, and don't rely on Balance as your only source of nutrition information for medical or safety-critical decisions.

You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for the accuracy of what you log. What you log is yours — see our Privacy Policy for how it's stored and used. You can export or permanently delete your data at any time from Profile.

Balance is free to use, with optional Balance Premium subscriptions (monthly or yearly) purchased in the iOS or Android app. Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically at the same price for each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You can manage or cancel anytime in your App Store or Google Play account settings; cancelling stops future renewals, and you keep Premium until the end of the period you paid for. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. Prices are shown in the app before you buy and may vary by country.

Premium includes unlimited AI meal analysis for normal personal use. To keep the service fair and sustainable, accounts that exceed about 12 AI analyses in a day may be paused from further AI analysis until the next day; search, barcode and manual logging stay available.

For purchases through the App Store, Apple's Standard End User License Agreement also applies.

Don't use Balance to misuse the service — attempting to break, overload, or reverse-engineer it, or using it for anything illegal. We may suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the service.

Balance is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including decisions made based on AI-generated content or third-party product data.

If these terms change, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Balance after a change means you accept the update.

These terms are governed by the laws of Spain, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
